With the
institution of several beauty pageants, both for women and men, a newest
addition to the list is “Man of the World”. The birth of this international
male pageant is said to change the landscape and consciousness at male
pageantry.
Man of the World,
the brainchild of Prime Event Productions Philippines Foundation, Inc. [PEPPS],
promises an amalgamation of the traditional and modern concepts to fortify and
give a new face of the male pageantry.
PEPPS with its
wide experience of organizing and producing world-class male pageants in the
Philippines gave birth to Misters of Filipinas, considered the biggest and
highly-esteemed male pageant in the country has produced two [2] international
winners Mister International and Manhunt International including numbers of
runners up from several international male pageants.
Man of the World’s
motto of “Celebrating Masculinity with Responsibility” will converge around
fifty [50] men from different countries around the globe and bring together the
new advocacy of the pageant with emphasis on promoting tourism and education.
In line with this,
PEPPS inks partnership with the Department of Tourism [DOT] and the Department
of Education [DepEd].
Something new is
expected from “Man of the World” as it offers new twists in the male pageantry.
The pageant will give highlights on National Costume Parade and Competition,
Press Presentation, Official Sashing Ceremony and Advocacy ceremony as it kicks
off last 19 July with the finals on July 28 at One Esplanade in Pasay City.
Aside from these
activities, candidates will have the chance to be part of the Fashion of the
World, Fashion Show of the Host County and Charity Auction. There will be two
[2] fast-track events: Talent of the World and World’s Choice. Semi-finalists
will be revealed during the finals and the official announcement of the
inaugural winner of Man of the World.
On its Social
Media contest, the organizer will introduce “Web Series” where pageant fans and
supporters around the world can follow their favorite candidate. The
candidate’s journey leading to the pageant finals will be properly documented
in a web series which can be viewed thru the official fan page of Man of the
World.
Favorably, the
Philippines will primarily benefit from this pageant as it highlights the best
of the Philippine tourism. According to PEPPS, beach wear photo and video shoot
will be held in Manjuyod Sand Bar in Negros Oriental, dubbed as the Maldives of
the Philippines. Candidates are also expected to visit various schools in the
country to promote the pageant thrust. Additionally, the country’s finest
beaches will serve as the backdrop during the Man of the World Beah Wear
Competition.
Meanwhile,
Christopher “Chriz” Comicho Dulagan, a police inspector from the Cordilleras
will represent the Philippines in the first edition of Man of the World 2017.
Chriz won the
title during Misters of Filipinas 2016 finals last 18 September. Before Chriz’s
victory, two other police officers joined Misters of Filipinas the like of Neil
Perez in 2014 who won for the Philippines the first Mister International title.
Don McGyver Cochico represented the Philippines in Manhunt International finals
last 29 October 2015 at Shenzhen, China.
